La Petite Maison at Margot

We have had an absolutely wonderful time! La Petite Maison is an extremely relaxing place to holiday – the house and pool are gorgeous, the countryside beautiful and the views fabulous. We still can’t quite believe how fantastic it all was. Thank you to Clare & Francis for making us so welcome. We’ll be back! P.S. Recommend the tour of St Antonin

La Petite Maison at Margot

Another wonderful week at La Petite Maison. Tried several restaurants – Le Moulin de Varen (an excellent meal), we sat at the best table in ‘sardina’s’ with Clare & Francis, watching the world go by as the town buzzed with the night market. Also ate at Le Festin de Babette which always pleases. Our barbecue nights on the terrace at La Petite Maison were just as fun and we enjoyed watching the stars by the poolside. Went on several walks from the house so feeling fit and healthy to go home. Thank you.

La Petite Maison at Margot

We had a perfect holiday! La Petite Maison is a beautifully renovated cottge, with stunning views, a private garden to sit and relax in and a swimming pool with superb panoramic views of the countryside. There are so many places to visit in this area-villages and towns steeped in history, fabulous markets and amazing architecture. We went out every day but were very happy to return to La Petite Maison, to sit in the garden and relax- after a swim!Clare and Francis could not have been more welcoming ,friendly and helpful, but never intrusive. This is a haven , a wee gem!Perfect!

As I write the only sound to be heard is morning birdsong. We have enjoyed our week of peace and tranquility so much that we have already booked to return in July! Thank you so much Clare & Francis for providing such an outstanding cottage – from the welcome pack on the first day to drinks on the terrace on the last! Truly perfect!

Everything has been wonderful! La Petite Maison is enchanting – and we have thoroughly enjoyed being in the garden – a little oasis. The Toulouse-Lautrec exhibition is excellent and we have visited several of the fortified villages enjoying lovely scenery en route. The ‘inclusive pack’ was greatly appreciated and we wish Clare & Francis continued and well deserved success in the future.

We arrived at La Petite Maison, a lovely cottage in rural France. A heatwave in October – so we were grateful for the lovely pool. We have visited Albi, Cordes sur Ciel, St Antonin, Penne, Puycelsi and Najac and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Our 3rd time in the area, 2nd at Margot. We came for the peace and quiet and have had a wonderfully relaxing holiday – in spite of the weather! Have had to spend more time inside than we would have liked but couldn’t have been more comfortable. This time we ventured further afield – Castres, Figeac & Cahors – places we may not have gone if the weather had been better, not wanting to spend good days sitting in the car. Our thanks once again to Clare & Francis for being so helpful and accommodating. We hope to be back again sometime.

La Petite Maison at Margot

We have had a very relaxing time here. The temperature in the gite, pool and generally has been just right! Loved the shade of the trees coming over the pool in the early evening. Views are fantastic. Area is gorgeous!Recommend venturing out to the Bastides in the area. Not far to see wonderful hilltop fortresses and the communities surrounding them. Albi was great with the Toulouse Lautrec museum and the Cathedral a must. St Antonin Noble Val Sunday market was very good. All in all a great week and our hosts were very knowledgeable about the area and lovely people. The gite is very clean, very well laid out and very comfortable with the terrace facing in the direction of the evening setting sun. Thank you Clare & Francis for letting us stay in your little part of the world.

La Petite Maison at Margot

Our two weeks spent in the little cottage at Margot have flown by. We have been blessed with good weather, lots of hot, sunny days and a couple not so bright (actually those were quite a welcome respite!) Wehave enjoyed all the comforts La Petite Maison offers, including the wonderful bed and fresh linen provided midway through our stay. Sadly we go home tomorrow but look forward very much to returning to this area again sometime, to share this tranquil spot Clare & Francis have made their own.

La Petite Maison at Margot

Regretfully we were only able to spend a few days at La Petite Maison before moving on, but that was long enough to fall in love with it and the perfect setting. The gite has everything that one could need for a very comfortable stay, even a barbecue on the private terrace (though sadly the weather didn’t let us take advantage of it, nor the pool, on this occasion). Great fun to take advantage of the fresh croissant/bread/pastries (as well as other lovely foodstuffs) delivered to the door on Thursdays courtesy of the local travelling ‘grocer’. St Antonin is a delight and the Sunday market is absolutely not to be missed. And I second the recommendation of La Corniche restaurant at Brousses, where I had probably the best meal of our stay in the area. Thank you, Clare and Francis, for all your thoughtfulness and helpfulness, which rounded off a wonderfully restful holiday. I will definitely be back!

La Petite Maison at Margot

We were dubious about coming so early to this part of France but we have not been disappointed. The weather has been wonderfully warm and the countryside looking superb. We have been delighted too by the wild flowers, especially the large variety of wild orchids. La Petite Maison is wonderfully comfortable for a relaxing break and my abiding memory will be sitting on the patio with a glass of local wine listening to the sound of a distant cuckoo. We will definitely return.
