What a lovely peaceful fortnight! Francis & Clare have found a gem of a home here at Margot. We expected variable weather in September and we were not disappointed. Our fortnight began with 2 nights of spectacular thunderstorms, followed by almost 10 days of scorching sunshine. We already know the area well but there are changes year on year and new places to discover. We love the Thursday market at Villefranche but also enjoyed the Sunday morning at St Antonin. We enjoyed the Corniche Restaurant at Brousses (our 16th wedding anniversary). The food was delicious and the patron was very chatty. For art lovers, don’t forget to visit Claude Nicaud’s gallery in Brousses. But we really came for peace and quiet and time to re-charge our batteries and we have certainly done that. The cottage is cosy comfortable and has all you need. The private terrace and garden are lovely and the pool is a real bonus. Our thanks to Francis & Clare for being so welcoming and kind. We hope to see you again before too long and will certainly recommend your cottage to anyone we know who needs to escape the daily grind back home.

In 2009 we discovered La Petite Maison and spent an incredible 2 weeks there wrapped in the magic of this idyllic setting. During that holiday we booked a 3 week stay for 2010. Our holiday this year gave us the same delightful experience with extra time to discover more of the area including Toulouse and Carcassonne as well as the numerous villages in the vicinity. St Antonin is of course delightful and only a short distance away for an evening walk, drink or meal or, of course, all three. If you are looking to wind down and relax in a beautiful area then this is the place for you. Enjoy the cottage and the beautiful swimming pool, a late night swim with the pool lights on or just with the stars at 10.30pm is wonderful when the temperature is still 26C! Clare & Francis are wonderful hosts, always there for the guests but discreet and non-intrusive, nothing is too much trouble for them and they will help you maximise the enjoyment of your holiday. We hope you have as enjoyable holiday as we have had over the past 2 years. We will be back again soon.

We’ve had another wonderful holiday that has simply flown by. If you like walking, buy the book from the Tourist Office which gives details of 38 randonnees. Simple to follow and include profiles of the walk so you can easily tell where the steep bits are. On this our second three week visit we only repeated 3 walks and have dozens left on our ‘to-do’ list. We enjoyed all our meals out and the cheeseboard at La Renaissance is still fab! This place suits us and we loved the new pool.

We have had a most enjoyable week in ‘Margot’. Francis & Clare work tirelessly to ensure that guests are comfortable, well-informed and generally well looked-after. We are sure everyone will find something to please around here:history, music, art, food, walking country, old towns etc. But then again you can just sit round the pool and read a book – that’s the whole point really: you don’t have to do anything.

A week full of delights, not least the pleasure of staying in this charming place, welcomed by Francis & Clare. The highlights were staggering Albi, Cordes and Villefranche but a delightful day was also spent closer to home exploring the local towns and villages.

Peace & tranquility far from the madding crowd is what we all crave and desire, and here it is in Le Petit Chateau Margot. We came in search of a ‘land’ and found it and so much more than we ever expected. We will return soon to live in this wonderful part of France and to enjoy the friendship of Francis & Clare who are just the perfect hosts and wonderful people also. Many visitors before us have said it all about the ‘must see’s and must do’s’. Its a bit like shooting fish in a barrel here. History & culture oozes out everywhere and it is such a delight to see a country and people who care about what they have, who they are and have respect for the people and things around them. You can’t fail to be touched by this place. Enjoy & Happy Travels. But we will thrash them in the 5 Nations soon!!!

We have had a wonderful week in an idyllic spot, it would be difficult to come here and not relax as the tranquility is bliss. The pool has beckoned us on many occasions after a hot day out and about.

This was our best holiday in France. We have re-booked for next year and for a longer period so that says it all. We hope everyone has as good a time as we have, especially the weather, 2 weeks of high 20’s/mid 30’s.

Many of you will visit the charming medieval villages of Penne and Bruniquel. However, do take the time to go to Montricoux, a plainer village, but with its distinct character and boasting an extraordinary museum in the chateau devoted to the works of one Marcel Lenoir. A contemporary of Matisse and Picasso, this rather grumpy old man displayed a quite exceptional range of artistic styles as well as being a poet and expert ceramicist.

We have had a much needed rest over the last two weeks with warm weather mainly, great food and a variety of wines expecially Cahors. With temperatures of up to 36 degrees outside, the pool was obviously an essential part of our holiday. The cottage is well laid out and has all the essentials to make our stay comfortable. We will consider returning.

Cannot think of a better way to spend a honeymoon. Many thanks to Clare & Francis for setting up the Petite Maison for our French style wedding celebration. Our 4th visit to St Antonin, 3rd to Petite Maison which I think says it all. Great relaxation, great company and we will definitely be back. P.S. La Corniche is still wonderful for lunch.
