We’ve had another lovely week at La Petite Maison!

Thank you for the lovely welcome – wine, cheese, bread, jam, eggs and so on!

We are looking back on another wonderful week here, which has once again gone by far too quickly.

Livingston, Scotland 11 – 25 July 2026

Thank you Clare & Francis for another wonderful stay at La Petite Maison – our 6th!

This has been our hottest yet so we have been very glad of the new air-conditioning as well as the pool.

Too hot to do much so we’ve been very happy just relaxing on the terrace, doing very little but enjoying the peace and now feeling much calmer.

The Total Calm Experience has just become even cooler.
This is the perfect place to unwind — from relaxing by the pool to soaking in the beautiful views and enjoying its ideal location for exploring historic towns like Cordes and the stunning city of Albi.
Clare and Francis always go above and beyond, and their attention to detail easily outshines any other cottage we’ve stayed in. This year’s addition of air conditioning was a game changer during the heatwave — a thoughtful upgrade that made our nights cool, restful, and incredibly comfortable.
Thank you both for another wonderful seven day stay. We can’t wait to return.

Well, you only have to read the reviews to know that we keep coming back for more of the same: peace, relaxation, super pool, Clare & Francis’s wonderful hospitality, great walks, beautiful countryside, interesting bastide towns and so many amazing places to visit.

To top it all, this year, on our 13th visit, we were delighted to discover that Clare and Francis had installed air conditioning! As our stay coincided with a heatwave, it was a fantastic addition and we appreciated being able to sleep well in the cool of the cottage.

This year we enjoyed visits to a very small art gallery ‘Lara Diego-Musee La Villa des Peintres’, where Diego himself gave us a tour and told us all about his collection, and to the larger, but equally interesting, ‘Musee des Beaux
Arts’ in Gaillac. On our way to Toulouse airport, we loved ‘Les Jardins des Martels’ in Giroussens. If you enjoy driving and gardens, definitely worth the journey.

As usual, we barbecued often, had a couple of good lunches out and were happy to find that Moulin de Varen was as excellent as ever.

Thank you so much, Clare & Francis, for another lovely week at La Petite Maison. We have been thoroughly lazy, which is just what was needed, and it’s been a joy to retun to this beautiful, tranquil place.

We’re just about to head off to the Moulin de Varen for a speical last night dinner, and would recommend it to any visitors who don’t knkow it as a great place to celebrate.

Thank you very much for the wonderful stay. We once again really enjoyed discovering (new) beautiful places and had a great time on the canoe trip.

We had a super nice stay at La Petite Maison, Margot. Relaxed on the veranda, we ‘floated’ in the pool every day.

Thanks for the nice chats and tips on nearby sights/places.

Our motto: ” Never hurry, take it slow, things worthwhile need time to grow!” A goal we don’t always adhere to in our daily, hectic lives. But here, in Margot, we succeeded perfectly!

Thanks a lot for all your efforts to make this place a little paradise. For all the attentions, information, discretion… Thanks for sharing this fantastic spot with us!

We will never forget the address, maybe for coming back ourselves, maybe to recommend this place to friends (but only to very good friends).

The end of another wonderful holiday at La Petite Maison (our 5th). We really haven’t done much except relax in the beautiful, peaceful surroundings. We love the ‘sit-outerie’ and being able to have a dip in the pool is very welcome during the very hot days in our first week.

As usual, Clare & Francis have been so welcoming and provided copious amounts of local information while being very discreet.

We had a lovely Sunday lunch at Le Moulin de Varen to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Apart from a lunch in Najac and another at Chez Malou, we’ve enjoyed using the new BBQ in the evenings – a novelty that we don’t get to do much in Scotland! Chez Malou is a new creperie just over the bridge in Saint Antonin. Lovely lunch overlooking the river. We thought it was quite good value for money.

Hopefully we’ll be back again soon.

Our first visit to Margot and what a safe heaven on earth this is. We really enjoyed being here. Lovely places to visit but coming ‘home’ in a beautiful, peaceful environment made us feel quite at ease. Thank you for your warm hospitality dear Clare and Francis – we could have been talking for day’s on end! Love to see you again some other day.
